So what did I do with them Dixon apples? I went to Walmart to get the highly rated Nesco FD-60 Food dehydrator (lowest price compared to other places). Basically it heats up the inside trays with warm air and fans out the evaporated moisture. Apples need to be heated at 135 Fahrenheit.
My first batch took ~12 hours. I coated the apple slices with some lemon juice and sugar. Then I realized I could even sprinkle cinnamon! Woot! With the FD-60 running, my apartment was transformed into a fragrant perfume bottle. Oh how nice it smelled!!!
