Sugar Daddy

I dunno, but I have this theory that everything started from food. Take for example: “Sugar daddy”:

I haven’t had a sugar daddy before…can you still get them today?

According to wiki,

Sugar Daddy is a caramel lollipop manufactured by Tootsie Roll Industries. A bite-sized candy, based on the Sugar Daddy is marketed under the name Sugar Babies (candy).

The Sugar Daddy was originally called the Papa and was invented in 1925 by the James O. Welch Company. The name was changed to Sugar Daddy in 1932. Sugar Babies were introduced three years later, in 1935.

Today, Sugar Daddies are produced in two sizes, the Junior Pop, with 160 calories, and the Large Pop, with 200 calories.

Another meaning:

Sugar Daddy was a successful hit single for Motown quintet The Jackson 5 [Michael Jackson] in late 1971. The song’s subject matter involves a young man whose girlfriend is using him for material purposes only, while she gives her love to another man.

What do you think would be different if God didn’t create food at all? no more restaurants, no chefs, no fancy desserts (BOOOO!), no lamb shanks, no Jamba Juice, no Valentine’s chocolates (not that I’ve ever gotten any), no free meals at weddings, Kobayashi wouldn’t have been famous, Jesus wouldn’t have had to feed the five thousand, no alcohol!, no Starbucks coffee, no lunch breaks at noontime, (but) no more food coma etc…

(Again, wiki tells us:

Food coma is a slang term for the lethargic state induced by overindulgence in carbohydrate-laden food.

A biological mechanism known as the shell-core effect causes the circulatory system to redirect bloodflow from the extremities to vital core-level processes (i.e., regulating core body temperature). As a result, the brain’s intake of oxygenated blood is restricted so that the stomach can metabolize large quantities of complex carbohydrates.

The proper medical terminology for this concept is post-prandial sedation.
