Once in a while, there comes a day where everything has one thing in common. When that day comes and it’s French, you know it’s going to be awesome! Accompanying that day was Monsieur Dennis and Madame Mindy…our first stop? My absolute favorite French bakery:
Tartine: http://www.yelp.com/biz/tartine-bakery-san-francisco-2
600 Guerrero St
(between 19th St & 18th St)
San Francisco, CA 94110
Must try:
Tartine’s Lemon Cream Tart
Next, just across the street…a famous ice cream spot:
Bi Rite Creamery http://www.yelp.com/biz/bi-rite-creamery-san-francisco
3692 18th St
(between Dolores St & Oakwood St)
San Francisco, CA 94110
BiRite Creamery’s famous
Salted Caramel ice cream!
Ice cream + Dolores Park (http://www.yelp.com/biz/dolores-park-san-francisco)…perfect!!
Then for dinner, we went a random French restaurant (which turned out only decent…just don’t order the Andouillette tripe sausage!!!! It’s nasty!):
Cafe Bastille http://www.yelp.com/biz/cafe-bastille-san-francisco-2
22 Belden Pl
(between Bush St & Pine St)
San Francisco, CA 94104
Menu
Lapin A La Moutarde – rabbit in mustard grain sauce
Escargots de Bourgogne – in garlic and parsley butter
Paulet Au Cidre
Chicken braised in cidre and calvados, pearl onions, bacon and mushrooms
And finally, our last stop was at the Orpheum Theater for the showing of my absolute favorite musical Les Miserables! The richness of the characters and the deep rooted theme of God’s love and compassion — all wrapped in musical goodness….c’est si bon!!
Oh yea, while you’re here, don’t forget to read up on my visit to the actual sewers of Paris in 2011 (an important setting in the story of Les Miserables): http://www.hungrycactus.com/2012/06/03/musee-des-les-egouts-de-paris-2011

Orpheum Theater, my seat was in the last balcony row — still a wonderful view! =)
