Treehugger
Tree hugger
Function: noun
1. environmentalist; an advocate for the preservation of woodlands
2. someone that hugs trees with great enthusiasm…
…after last weekend, I guess I can be categorized as a tree hugger after all. Yes, I hugged a tree. Maybe a bit too strong too — as I don’t remember it at all. You see, I was vacationing in Albuquerque, enjoying the weekend and catching a frisbee when I ran head first into a tree. (ouch) The impact knocked me out cold, leaving behind wounds on my left face and right knee. Thankfully Arlen and Elizabeth rushed me to urgent care and eventually onto an ambulance to the ER. Below are some bloody pictures in the ER:

The docs were originally worried there was internal bleeding from the concussion, but thankfully after an MRI and close observation, I’ve been cleared. Here’s the actual MRI scans of my head…isn’t that cool? (tell me asap if you spot a tumor! =P)
Even now, I still feel the intense side effects of light sensitivity, fatigue and headaches. Fortunately, my primary doctor believes these symptoms should go away within a week. For now it’s a lot of resting…I think I’ll be ok.
(thanks to Mike/Tessa and Arlen/Elizabeth for taking wonderful care of me last weekend! You guys are awesome!)
